Birds living in urban environments are smarter than birds from the wildlife. 

Researchers from McGill University in Montreal, Canada, have found out that the “place of residence” affects the “intellect” of birds.

They studied the birds living in different areas on the island of Barbados, and attempted to find out to what extent birds are resourceful, and whether they can distinguish colors.

In addition, the researchers tried to teach birds different skills, including two ways to solve problems.

As a result, it was found out that “urban” birds orientate better when in search of non-standard solutions.

Researchers assume that the reason is the peculiarities of an urbanized environment, which provides birds more resources and requires new skills to survive.
