YEREVAN. - A political consultation took place between the Armenian and Spanish MFAs in the Armenian MFA Tuesday.
The Armenian side was represented by Head of the European Department Paruyr Hovhannisyan, Director General on Foreign Policy and Multilateral, Global and Security Affairs, Enrique Mora Benavente, speaking on behalf of the Spanish side.
The Armenian and Spanish diplomats discussed the issues on the agenda of bilateral relations. Attention was attached to the invigoration of the Armenian-Spanish political dialogue and development of inter-parliamentary ties. The sides also discussed the steps aimed at the expansion of trade and economic ties. Apart from this, they referred to the cooperation in the framework of international organizations.
On the same day, the Spanish delegation had working lunch with Armenian Deputy FM Garen Nazarian. During the meeting, the sides touched on the pressing issues on the regional and international agenda, exchanging thoughts on the prospects for Armenian-EU cooperation.
In the framework of their visit, the Spanish delegation also had meetings with the Chief of the Armenian Presidential Staff, as well as members of the National Assembly (NA) Standing Committee on Foreign Relations.
Besides, the Spanish delegates visited the Armenian Genocide Memorial Complex, where they paid tribute to the memory of the innocent victims.
