A criminal case has been launched against Oleksandr “Sasha” Borovik, Acting Deputy Governor of Odessa Oblast (province) of Ukraine, for disrespecting the Ukrainian national flag.

Ivan Varchenko, Advisor to the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, wrote about the aforementioned on his Facebook account.

“Sasha Borovik posted a Ukrainian flag, on which penises are drawn, on his Facebook page,” Varchenko wrote. “He probably thought that such interpretation of national symbols has high artistic value and is the pinnacle creativity.”

The criminal case opened against Borovik on charges of disrespect toward Ukrainian national symbols.
