YEREVAN. - The new draft Electoral Code proposes voting transparency measures even in military units, Chief of RA Government Staff-Minister Davit Harutyunyan said at the 4+4+4 format meeting (4 representatives from the government, opposition and civil society) Friday.
He recalled that the electronic devices for the voter registration identify them by fingerprints. After the voting, the electronic device will compare all the fingerprints to check for repetitions, that is, to find out whether one person has voted for several times.
“The comparison will be made not only in the civic polling stations, but also military units. Of course, the voter lists there won’t indicate names and surnames, but the information will be enough for identification,” Harutyunyan said.
