Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull has confirmed his plans to announce the complete dissolution of the federal parliament and to hold elections in the country on July 2.

In an  interview with journalists, PM said that after submission of the draft budget at the beginning of May he is  going to ask the governor general of Australia to dissolve both houses of the Australian Parliament  and to appoint elections which as he expects, will take place on July 2, TASS reported.

Australian Federal Parliament resumed its work on Monday, and did it ahead of schedule. Usually Australian lawmakers are on vacation, working in their districts in April and return to Canberra in May to start working on the government draft budget for the next financial year from the second Tuesday of the month.

However, Turnbull decided to break the political tradition and restore parliament in Canberra for three weeks ahead of schedule. This step has provided to the government an extra time repeatedly to put to the vote in the Senate the controversial bill of restoration of the Committee on the work of the construction industry supervision.

 On Monday , the Senate rejected this bill for the second time that allows Turnbull to go for so-called "double", i.e. full dissolution of parliament and elections at short notice.
