The European Parliament intends to impose a ban on registration in the social networks Facebook, Snapchat and Twitter to people under the age of 16 without parental consent starting fom 2018, Gazeta reported quoting Financial Times.

According to data of eMarketer research analyst firm, every fifth child under 11 has profile on Facebook, although the rules of use of social networks require that the user must be not less than 13.

As the edition notes, the companies should develop a method for obtaining parental consent for registration in social networks or refusal in access. It is not specified how the innovations will be implemented. Companies which won't provide the corresponding procedure during registration, according to the law, will be fined up to 4% of its global turnover.
