A resident of Chicago Stacy Pincus filed a $ 5 million lawsuit against the Starbucks Company for overusing the amount of ice in beverages , writes Gazeta with a reference to Chicago Tribune. In the plaintiff's opinion, the company's employees are adding too much ice in the iced coffee, tea, and mixed drinks so that customers could get less of the beverage.

Starbucks cups have marks which instruct the baristas how much liquid to pour into the cup. Pincus’s lawsuit states that instead of 24 –ounce of drink the client receives only 14 ounce in a cup. In addition , the plaintiff complains that the cost of cold drinks is high even given the less ounces drink the client gets in a cup.

On the other hand, Starbucks considers her claim as groundless . According to the company , customers realize that the ice is an integral part of any cold beverage. The coffee chain also notes that the customer can ask for another drink, if something is wrong with what s/he had paid for.
