A group of German intellectuals have sent an open letter to Chancellor Angela Merkel.
In the letter, they urged to finally use the term “genocide” when debating, on June 2 in the German Bundestag (parliament), the resolution on the Armenian massacres in the Ottoman Empire.
The letter specifically noted that, “Just a few days ago, President [Recep Tayyip] Erdogan [of Turkey] warned that Armenia was playing with fire in Nagorno-Karabakh.”
