The Venice tourist police rescued a woman who jumped from gondola into the Grand Canal after her smartphone.
The woman accidentally threw her smartphone into the canal, when she was doing a selfie. Immediately after that she took her clothes off and plunged into the water, but her efforts to pull the device out have failed.
Eventually, she swam to the shore , where that police were waiting for her. The video shot by witnesses have become a hit in the Italian social networks, because local residents have never swum in the canals. The water there is the dirtiest in Europe, the flows untreated sewage from the streets and houses. Experts have estimated that 90 % of humans’ leftovers are released to the city's canals. The water survey during the last two years has shown that there are many viruses that cause threat to humans, including hepatitis А, reports Lenta quoting the Daily Mail.
