Russian Transport Minister Maksim Sokolov stated that Ukraine will have to pay for modification of the international codes after renaming of the city of Dnipropetrovsk into Dnipro.
He mentioned that renaming is an expensive undertaking and the initiator of the appeal is responsible for this, TASS reported.
According to the minister, Russia is ready to make changes to the cartographical sources and databases, if all the expenses from international codes are resolved.
The head of Federal Air Transport Agency Alexander Neradko explained to journalists that the changes have not been implemented in the international aviation airport code yet.
Ukraine's Verkhovna Rada decided that the city of Dnipropetrovsk should be renamed Dnipro as part of the decommunization drive on May 19.
