RA National Statistics Service reports almost 10.6% decrease (4 571.4 thousand t.) in freight traffic as of Jan-Jul. 2009 compared to the same period last year.
Compared to June, freight traffic volume in July this year fell by 3%.

Railway freight traffic for the reported period made up 1393.3 thousand t., which is 10.9% below the last year’s index. Automobile industry figure dropped by 9.1% reaching 2475.1 thousand t. compared to Jan-Jul., 2008.

Automobile freight traffic provides 54.1% of the total volume. Air freight traffic as of January-July 2009 made up 4.7 thousand t., decreasing by 19% compared to 2008.
