At least 12 people were killed in the attack made in the northeastern city Mandera in Kenya supposedly by Al Shabab gang, reports BBC. According to the police, the attack took place at night, and militants used explosives.

The previous attack of militants in Mandera took place on October 6. The ganged attacked a residential area; six people were killed.  The Islamist group Al Shabab, which has close links with Al Qaeda, is deployed in Somalia but often attacks Kenya and neighboring countries. The group claims that attacks launched in Kenya is a response against the participation of Kenya’s servicemen in the actions against the Islamists in Somalia.
