The leader of the gang involved in child trafficking   in China, has been sentenced to death, according to the verdict by the intermediate people's court in Wenzhou, east China's Zhejiang province.

According to court records, 25 defendants were found guilty and 23 were sentenced in the Wenzhou child trafficking case in which 26 children were trafficked to different provinces, RIA Novosti reported quoting Xinhua.

The leader of the gang surnamed Zhang has been involved in sale of 20 children, his girlfriend has taken part in 17 cases of sale of children.

According to the court, Zhang was sentenced to death, and his property is subject to confiscation. The local doctor, who participated in the criminal scheme, received 13 years in prison and is obliged to pay a penalty of more than 10 thousand dollars. Other participants of the crimes received from one to eight years in prison.
