The commander of U.S. forces in South Korea Vincent Brooks said a U.S. Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) anti-missile system battery would be deployed in South Korea within eight to 10 months, Xinhua reported.

According to him, the U.S. and South Korea would strongly promote deployment of a THAAD battery. Earlier, Brooks said that THAAD complex in South Korea will be larger configuration than the one in Guam.

It should be noted that in July, the U.S. and South Korea announced readiness to deploy THAAD anti-missile battery in the South Korean territory which caused strong protests in a number of countries, including China.
