The head of Odessa's regional administration Mikheil Saakashvili announced his decision to resign, 112 Ukraine reported.

During his briefing Saakashvili said that he decided to resign and to start а new phase of struggle.  He noted that they could not get rid of him as he was the soldier who would do everything to win. He said that he would do his best so that Ukraine could get rid of corruption which was destroying everything on its way.

Saakashvili was appointed as a governor of the Ukrainian region of Odessa on May 30, 2015.
