VimpelCom is on a journey of reinventing itself as a digital operator. Falling revenues from voice services have not discouraged the company, which is stepping up with new voice and data services and technologies, across its markets.

“We engage with the customer in a digital market, beyond brick-and-mortar”, he said.

In the past 18 months VimpelCom has made further efforts to increase its appeal to investors, increasing its free float in the Nasdaq stock exchange and keeping a steady balance sheet.

The ambition of the company is to be either the number one or a solid number two whenever it operates, Charlier stressed.

Last year, the company has re-invested around 70% of its revenues back into business. The company stands for long term investment in all its subsidiaries in different countries.

“Better coverage and speed of connection is vital in keeping customers loyal. That’s why I’m also very focused on how we can improve the quality of broadband internet services. We are upgrading our networks in Yerevan the rest of Armenia to provide users with up-to-date quality. But we also believe future is not just about fixed or mobile, it’s about a converge propositions, which we have also pioneered in Armenia”, he said.
