Russia will not yet exercise its drawing rights to concessionary loans of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and refuses to be a donor, RF PM Vladimir Putin declared.

IMF was going to extend 8.840 billion rubles for Russia. RF Finance Minister Alexei Kudrin stated that negotiations with the Central Bank showed Russia is not in a critical situation and does not need the money.

Putin instructed Kudrin, in the dialogue with the IMF leadership, to draw special attention to the financial support of the other CIS member-countries: Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz, Tajikistan, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Moldova, and Ukraine. Georgia seceded from the organization in mid August, 2009.
