By selling arms, Russia to a large extent controls Azerbaijan, Russian state TV presenter and journalist Dmitry Kiselyov, who is also the Executive Director of the international agency ''Russia Today,'' said at the meeting with journalists in Yerevan on Monday.

In his words, Azerbaijan buys arms in the market for hard currency and can do this both from Israel and Turkey.

"Russia is the second importer of arms in the world. Azerbaijan, like many other countries, buys those arms. There is no political component here. Russia controls Azerbaijan in many respects, since the absence of relations is absence of control," Kiselyov noted.

According to him, Azerbaijan pays billions of dollars for weapons. "From this perspective, Armenian befits from the contacts between Russia and Azerbaijan," Kiselyov concluded.
