Netherlands’ parliamentary elections will take place on Wednesday, BBC reported.

People can vote fore 28 parties competing for the 150 seats in the Dutch parliament. The key rivals in the race are Prime Minister Mark Rutte's centre-right party and that of Geert Wilders.

Mr Rutte has said the election is an opportunity for voters to "beat the wrong sort of populism". Wilders has pledged to take the Netherlands out of the EU, close all mosques and ban the Koran.

Wednesday's election comes amid a diplomatic spat between the Netherlands and Turkey.

The relations between Ankara and Amsterdam sharply worsened after the authorities of the Netherlands did not allow the two Turkish ministers to meet with Turkish community in Rotterdam.
