The US Senate on Wednesday confirmed former Senator Daniel Ray “Dan” Coats to serve as President Donald Trump’s director of national intelligence.

Republican Party member Coats was a senator for 16 years, from the State of Indiana. Also, he was the US ambassador to Germany, from 2001 to 2005.

In addition, the Senate approved Army Lt. Gen. Herbert Raymond “H. R.” McMaster as national security adviser to President Trump.

McMaster, 54, is a career army serviceman and the author of the book “Dereliction of Duty,” which is critical of the Vietnam War.
