Belgian Foreign Ministry urged citizens of the kingdom to be vigilant while traveling to Turkey in the light of possible terrorist attacks in the run-up to the referendum which will take place on April 16, 2017, RIA Novosti reported.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belgium also does not recommend Belgians who are in Turkey to make trips to areas in the southeast of the country and border zones with Syria and Iraq.

A referendum on amendments to the constitution of the country expanding powers of the head of state will take place in Turkey on April 16.
