The delegation led by Deputy Speaker of the Armenian National Assembly (NA), head of Armenia-Czech Republic friendship group Eduard Sharmazanov on Thursday met with Vice Chairman of the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Republic Jan Bartošek.
Sharmazanov handed a medal of honor of the Armenian NA to Mr Bartošek for passing the resolution condemning the Armenian Genocide, as well the work carried out towards enhancing the Czech-Armenian inter-parliamentary ties.
Handing the award, the Armenian NA Deputy Speaker noted: “For many years you have and continue to combat terrorism and genocide denial, as well as struggle for defending human rights. Currently, our brothers are fighting for their right to live independently and freely, building free Artsakh. Visit Artsakh and you will make sure that the Artsakh citizens are building a democratic state.”
Eduard Sharmazanov also noted that Armenia attaches great importance to the development of parliamentary diplomacy. Valuing the sustainable development of friendly ties with the Czech Republic, he stressed that in the recent years positive progress has been observed in bilateral ties.
The delegation members presented the process of constitutional reforms implemented in Armenia and the process of shifting to the parliamentary form of governance, as well as the reforms made in different spheres.
The meeting was also attended by Armenian Ambassador to the Czech Republic Tigran Seyranyan.
