Canadian astronaut Julie Payette kept her promise to Turkish Prime Minister’s wife Emine Erdogan, sending her photos of Istanbul taken from space. The ladies met within the framework of G20 summit in Toronto in June, Turkish Zaman daily reports.

Payette sent the photos through the Turkish Embassy in Canada.

“Dear Ms. Erdogan. As promised, please find two photos of Istanbul I took from space on my last mission. What a beautiful city, seen from 350 km above,” Payette wrote in a letter to Mrs. Erdogan.
