Pentagon continues supplying weapons to Kurdish partners who are fighting against the Islamic States, spokesman Col. Robert Manning told reporters.
He said the department is “reviewing pending adjustments to the military support provided to our Kurdish partners in as much as the military requirements of our defeat-[Islamic State in Iraq and Syria] and stabilization efforts will allow us to prevent ISIS from returning.”
Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said that yesterday, Trump assured Erdogan by phone that he instructed to stop the supply of American weapons to the self-defense forces of the Syrian Kurds (YPG). Later White House clarified that the issue was touched upon but president Trump did not take any commitments to ban the supplies.
