The Chinese Ministry of Commerce expressed on Saturday its firm objection to the US's rejection of China's market economy status, CGTN reported,

According to the ministry, Beijing is deeply unsatisfied with the move, because the US overlooked the rules of WTO.

A U.S. document released Thursday in Geneva supports the European Union in opposing giving China market status.

“WTO members must end the ‘surrogate country’ practice in anti-dumping investigations against China,” said foreign ministry spokesman, Geng Shuang.

Earlier, Geng Shuang said that “all WTO members should honor their commitments and promises, strictly abide by the international law, and earnestly fulfill the obligation under international agreements.”
