YEREVAN. – Foreign Minister of Armenia Edward Nalbandian, who is in Vienna on a working visit, met with his Icelandic counterpart, Guðlaugur Þór Þórðarson.
The interlocutors recorded that the current level of relations between the two countries does not correspond to the existing potential and joint steps need to be taken to further strengthen bilateral ties, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of Armenia informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.
Nalbandian and Þórðarson shared the view that such talks and high-level mutual visits can contribute to the deepening of cooperation.
Also, the FMs of Armenia and Iceland underscored the need to expand the legal framework and to hold consultations between the MFAs of the two countries, and exchanged views on making their cooperation grow deeper within international platforms.
In addition, Edward Nalbandian and Guðlaugur Þór Þórðarson discussed the avenues for promoting trade and economic cooperation between Armenia and Iceland.
