At a meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov British Foreign Minister Boris Johnson said that Moscow and London must prevent North Korea's nuclear program, RIA Novosti reports.

According to him, there is such an imperative as preventing the appearance of nuclear weapons from North Korea.

Johnson also said that there is a serious need to move forward in securing the future of the people of Syria. The British minister noted that "there are complex issues, and there are issues on which both sides are eager to cooperate, and there are issues on the bilateral agenda”. He marked that London and Moscow can find opportunities for cooperation on issues where there are serious common interests, that is, for example, Iran, and the need to preserve the nuclear deal concluded with the country.

In addition, according to Johnson, Britain and Russia should recognize and discuss the existence of discrepancies in bilateral relations, including on Ukraine and in the field of cyber security, TASS reports.

Johnson said that when he looks at the system in their relations, whether the situation concerns Ukraine, the Western Balkans or cyber security, he admits that it is important to talk about such things and be frank about them and admit that they are an obstacle to the development of their relations.

The head of the British Foreign Ministry also counts on closer cooperation with Russia on issues of bilateral relations, including in the cultural and scientific spheres.

Johnson added that he is very glad that there is a train in the Moscow metro station dedicated to William Shakespeare.
