Early elections are to be conducted in MPs Sasun Mikayelyan and Hakob Hakobyan districts.

The Armenian Central Electoral Commission (CEC) will approve it at the Sept. 17 sitting.

RA Speaker Hovik Abrahamyan sent a letter to CEC proposing to unseat the two MPs, as well as Myasnik Malkhasyan (Republican). As latter was elected by the Republican party list, there is no need for extra elections in that district.

The all three MPs will be unseated due to the court verdict. The fact that Hakobyan and Malkhasyan were released on amnesty is of no significance. The court accused them of the organization of mass disorders in March 1-2, 2008 events in Yerevan. Sasun Mikayelyan was also charged for illegal keeping of weapon.
