The Government of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR) held a sitting to make a number of decisions and amend previous ones.

NKR Prime Minister Ara Harutyunyan told the Government members about his visit to the village of Norshen, Martuni region, at the NKR President’s order. The villagers are in a critical situation: drinking water has not been supplied to the village for 40 days. The NKR Premier pointed out with indignation that the problem might have been resolved within 2-3 days. He was highly critical of the local administration for being inactive. Premier Harutyunyan stressed the need for consistent assistance to the population in resolving their problems.

NKR Minister of Agriculture Armo Tsaturyan presented draft amendments to the RA Law “On licensing”. He pointed out the country’s need for 3 to 3.5 tons of high-quality seeds annually. The NKR imports the greater part of this amount.

The NKR Premier pointed out the necessity for amendments to the country’s laws to promote licensed local seed production. The Premier instructed the NKR Ministry of Agriculture to organize training courses for businessmen, involving specialists from Armenia, and form seed production associations.

The NKR Government also approved draft amendments to the NKR Law on State Duty and amended the decisions “On financial aid to doctors working in other regions”, “On motor transport”. The NKR Government also made a number of decisions.

The NKR Government approved a draft decision on marking Librarians’ Day on October 7.
