An Armenian man died and three others were wounded Sunday during an exchange of fire between Armenians, Azerbaijanis, and Dagestanis in Frolovo town, in Volgograd Oblast (province) of Russia.

A source in law enforcement agencies said the shooting had occurred during a mass brawl because of an argument over a Dagestani.

Six Dagestanis had arrived to settle the matter, and entered a store that belongs to an Armenian-Azerbaijani mixed family.

According to a participant in the argument, the Dagestanis had started shooting first.

An Armenian, who was a businessman, died in the exchange of fire.

Two Dagestainis and a member of the said Armenian Azerbaijani family were hospitalized. One of the Dagestanis is in critical condition.

A source at the Volgograd Oblast Investigation Department told Bloknot Volgograd that police on Sunday evening detained the four Dagestanis who had fled the scene of the shooting.
