Chinese Premier Li Keqiang said he sees no deficit of trust between Beijing and Washington, Reuters reported.

According to him, both countries should work to prevent such a situation. Li Keqiang is also hopeful that trade negotiations between China and the United States could achieve results.

China must protect intellectual property; otherwise there is no hope for the nation’s transformation, Li said at the annual Boao forum held on China’s southern island of Hainan.

Later on Thursday t Chinese Vice Premier Liu He had to meet with U.S. Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin and U.S. Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer.

China and the United States have already conducted several rounds of talks in order to reach a trade agreement that will end the “trade war” between the two countries. The agreement is expected to be signed in April.
