Before recruiting women to the army, we need to set the objective to make sure Armenian women are more actively involved in society and politics. This is what Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said his meeting with members of the Armenian community of Austria on 29 March, responding to the proposal to have Armenian women serve in the army by following the example of Israel.

“I realized that the revolution in Armenia would be a success when I looked at the square and saw that half of the people were women, and sometimes there were more women than men. First, children came out to the streets, followed by their parents and so on. I have been in politics for many years, but I had never seen such a thing. I realized that the revolution would take place peacefully and without turbulence,” the Prime Minister said.

The Prime Minister also expressed certainty that women are inclined to corruption ten times less than men.
