Unfortunately, there are still criminal relationships in the army. This is what Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said during a meeting with members of the Armenian community of Austria on 29 March.

“This is one of our biggest problems. Military servicemen can be sitting and talking at a table, get into a dispute and kill each other. This attests to the fact that there are major issues in the army,” Pashinyan said.

He also stated that there is a need to examine the issue in depth and solve it. “There was a time when people would say “the army is our sanctity and we shouldn’t raise such issues”. No, on the contrary, the army is our sanctity, and for that reason we need to cleanse the ‘body’. What are we afraid of? Are we afraid of talking about our children’s relationships?”
