On 2 April, Mayor of Yerevan Hayk Marutyan received newly appointed US Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Republic of Armenia Lynne Tracy.

Congratulating the guest on starting her diplomatic mission in Armenia, Mayor Marutyan stated that Yerevan attaches importance to cooperation with US cities, presented the key priorities and problems of Yerevan and voiced hope that the US would participate in the implementation of the city’s development programs.

“I am certain that the cooperation between Yerevan Municipality and the US Embassy in Armenia will continue. Yerevan Municipality is always willing to support the embassy within the scope of its powers,” Hayk Marutyan said.

In her turn, the US ambassador attached importance to the cooperation between the local self-government bodies of the United States and the Republic of Armenia.

“The US continues to support the functioning of a strong system of local self-governance in Armenia. I am glad that I had the opportunity to meet you and reaffirm our willingness for further cooperation with Yerevan Municipality,” Ambassador Tracy stated.
