The Romanian state-owned airline "Tarom-Romanian Air Transport" will start to carry out Bucharest-Yerevan direct flights starting from April 3.

The presentation was attended by representatives of the General Directorate of Civil Aviation, the Ministry of Transport, Communications and High Technologies, ambassadors, deputies of the Armenian parliament.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Armenia to Romania Sergey Minasyan noted that the implementation of direct flights will help develop and expand trade and economic ties, including tourism.

“In addition, it will allow us to count on the development of political relations,” the ambassador added.

Cost of airfare will begin at 165 euros. Flights will be regular: initially - twice a week.

Tarom-Romanian Air Transport is currently the second largest airline operating in Romania based on international destinations, international flights and the third largest measured by fleet size and passengers carried. Over ninety-seven percent (97.17%) of TAROM is owned by the Romanian Government (Ministry of Transport). The airline joined SkyTeam on 25 June 2010.
