I had a working discussion with representatives of the factions of the National Assembly and recommended that they start making amendments to the Electoral Code. This is what Deputy of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan wrote on his Facebook page on 3 April.

“My fellow parliamentarians and I will aspire to make amendments that will create an ample legislative and institutional ground for capitalizing the experience of the elections of 9 December 2018, which were free, fair, transparent and met the best international standards.

We also reached an agreement to keep the process transparent, effective and inclusive and engage civil society representatives and members of extra-parliamentary political forces in the process. I will also hold parliamentary hearings devoted to the topic soon,” he wrote.
