Political consultations between the Armenian and Romanian Foreign Ministries were held in Yerevan on Wednesday, the press service of the Armenian Foreign Ministry reported.

the Armenian delegation was headed by Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia Avet Adonts and the Romanian delegation was headed by Romanian Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs Dan Neculaescu. 
A wide range of issues related to the development of the Armenian-Romanian relations were discussed during the consultations, the sides touched upon the latest developments in the region, as well as the prospects of expanding the cooperation between the two countries within the framework of Armenia-EU relations and international organizations. 

Greeting the Romanian delegation with the first direct flight from Bucharest to Yerevan, Deputy Minister Adonts noted that it will play an important role in the development of trade-economic, tourism and educational-cultural cooperation in bilateral relations. The interlocutors touched upon the details of the forthcoming visit of Armenian FM to Romania this fall. The sides reaffirmed their commitment to forming a rich economic and cultural agenda.

Congratulating Romania on assuming the presidency in the EU Council, Deputy Minister Adonts noted that Armenia marks the 10th anniversary of its cooperation with the EU within the framework of the Eastern Partnership.

The Romanian delegation was received by Vice Speakers of Parliament, Lena Nazaryan, Chairpersons of Standing Committees on Foreign Relations and European Integration Ruben Rubinyan and Arman Yeghoyan, Armenia's Minister of Economic Development and Investments Tigran Khachatryan.

Issues related to the activation of bilateral political and trade-economic relations were discussed during the meetings.
