Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan received on Thursday the Chairman of the Romania-Armenia friendship group at the Romanian Parliament, Chairman of the Union of the Armenians of Romania Varuzhan Voskanian, head of the Romanian affiliate of the Hayastan All-Armenian Fund Karapet Khachaturyan and Vice President of the Romanian-Armenian Union Zareh Nazaryan.

Welcoming the guests, Pashinyan noted that the meetings with Armenian Diasporas are especially important for him, during which a number of issues relating to the relations between Armenia and the Diaspora are discussed. The Prime Minister added that one of the most important goals of the changes taking place in Armenia is the formation of a new level of relations between Armenia and the diaspora.

Touching upon the Armenian-Romanian relations, the Prime Minister noted the importance of launching the new Yerevan-Bucharest flight and expressed hope that it will be successful. Varuzhan Voskanian expressed gratitude for the warm welcome and noted that they closely watched the developments and changes in Armenia. He expressed confidence that the government headed by Nikol Pashinyan will successfully accomplish its mission.

 Voskanian also noted that the local Armenian community is also ready to contribute to the development of the motherland in various fields, and for this, they want to maintain constant contacts and hold discussions with the Government of Armenia. 

Varuzhan Voskanian touched upon the activities of the Armenian community of Romania and expressed confidence that it can play a large role in the development and expansion of political, economic and cultural ties between the two countries. 

In this context, the interlocutors discussed the activities of the Armenian-Romanian intergovernmental commission, the issues of enhancing inter-parliamentary relations, cooperation in the fields of economy, tourism, culture, in particular, in the field of literature.
