The European Court of Human Rights has responded to the case of the Government of the Republic of Armenia over former Deputy of the National Assembly Manvel Grigoryan and addressed a letter to the attorneys. This is what Grigoryan’s attorney Levon Baghdasaryan told Armenian News-NEWS.am. “We received the letter today,” he said.

The attorney stated that he has been given three days to examine the letter and submit his comments and suggestions.

“I would like to state that Manvel Grigoryan’s health is getting worse, but I regret that this issue is now within the domain of the European Court of Human Rights, yet the government is going to be held liable for this with a positive commitment,” he said.

On 12 March 2019, Manvel Grigoryan’s attorneys addressed the European Court of Human Rights with the request to apply an interim measure in Grigoryan’s case, obliging the Armenian authorities to transfer Manvel Grigoryan to a civic hospital immediately and then to a medical institution in France — indicated by Manvel Grigoryan — for further checkup and treatment.

On 22 March, the European Court of Human Rights rendered a decision to postpone examination of the interim measure, requesting that the Government of the Republic of Armenia submit relevant information prior to 3 April 2019.
