On 9 April, the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Republic of Armenia forwarded the criminal case — instituted by the National Security Service in relation to the falsification of documents by one of the close relatives of Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan — to the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia, as advisor to the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Armenia Gor Abrahamyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

He stated that the prosecutor had verified the substantiation and lawfulness of the criminal case and considered that there were no grounds to do away with the decision.

On 5 April, Director of the National Security Service of Armenia Artur Vanetsyan rushed to announce that the proceedings of the criminal case had been transferred to the Investigative Committee, but the latter told Armenian News-NEWS.am that it hadn’t received such a case yet.

Until now, law-enforcement authorities avoid stating the name of the suspect.
