Armenian parliament speaker Ararat Mirzoyan has met in Doha with the President of Inter-Parliamentary Union Gabriela Cuevas Barron, National Assembly’s press service reported.

During the meeting, Mirzoyan presented the changes in Armenia in the last year, as well as the current developments after the snap parliamentary elections. The head of the legislative body expressed confidence that the National Assembly of the new convocation will be actively involved in the work of international parliamentary organizations, in particular in the IPU.

The sides discussed the formation of a closer cooperation agenda, which may include the UN sustainable development goals, the institutional development of parliaments and other areas of common interest.
