Deputies of the Prosperous Armenia Party’s faction of the National Assembly held a closed meeting with judge candidate of the Constitutional Court Gor Hovhannisyan. This is what the faction’s secretary Arman Abovyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am, adding that the meeting is already over.
“We listened to the answers to our questions of concern. We’ll hold a discussion and express our position,” he said.
Gor Hovhannisyan will have similar meetings with the other political parties represented in parliament.
Gor Hovhannisyan was nominated by President of the Republic of Armenia Armen Sarkissian.
On 23 October 2018, during a secret vote held in the National Assembly, Vahe Grigoryan wasn’t elected judge of the Constitutional Court since there were only 53 MPs who participated in the vote and 23 of them had voted against Grigoryan.
