During the recent meeting with members of the Armenian community of Vienna, an idea was conceived to create the “Homes for Immigrants” program to offer mortgage loans at more affordable interest rates and under certain terms to those who have returned to Armenia. This is what Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan said during a meeting with the Armenian community of Strasbourg on 11 April.

According to the Prime Minister, the Armenian government and the Central Bank are working on this program.

He stressed that the issue of immigration has been and still is on the agenda of the government. “There were and are different ideas. There is an offer to give special loans, but there might be many citizens of Armenia who are in Armenia and are in need of the same opportunities.”

According to the Prime Minister, there is a problem with creating equal opportunities for everyone. “Armenia truly has to be a legal state. Laws have to be enforced, people have to have opportunities, everyone must be able to be involved in economic activities, and the country has to be attractive for people to live in the country. It is very important for us to record that it is impossible to solve social issues and any issue without working.”
