US President Donald Trump commented on North Korean leader Kim Jong Un's statement about the possibility of a new meeting after they failed to meet in Hanoi.
"I agree with Kim Jong Un of North Korea that our personal relationship remains very good, perhaps the term excellent would be even more accurate, and that a third Summit would be good in that we fully understand where we each stand. North Korea has tremendous potential for extraordinary growth, economic success and riches under the leadership of Chairman Kim. I look forward to the day, which could be soon, when Nuclear Weapons and Sanctions can be removed, and then watching North Korea become one of the most successful nations of the World!" Trump tweeted.
Earlier it was reported that North Korean leader Kim Jong Un said he was ready to wait for US President Donald Trump to change his attitude to denuclearization talks until the end of the year.
“Until the end of the year, I will be patient, I will wait for the US president, although it will be difficult to come up with an opportunity as good as it was last time [during the February 27-28 summit in Vietnam’s Hanoi],” he said, adding that holding the third summit would require “constructive decisions for the improvement of relations.”
He also said that despite the failure of their latest talks in Hanoi, his personal relations with Donald Trump remained good.
