A possible suspect in the Minsk terrorist attack killing 12 people has been detained in the capital of Belarus.

Deputy Prosecutor General Andrey Shved said footage and testimony of the detainee testify to his involvement in the attack, RIA Novosti reports.   

Earlier Russian Kommersant newspaper reported that footage showed the man leaving a bag under a bench in the station.

As Armenian News-NEWS.am reported earlier, a blast hit Oktyabrskaya subway station in Minsk during evening rush hour Monday killing 12 people and wounding 126.

Oktyabrskaya is the busiest metro station, which is located near the residence of Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko. The explosive device went off as two trains were arriving at the station, where two metro lines intersect.
