US Secretary of Health and Human Resources Alex Azar said on Friday that coronavirus has been declared a public health emergency in the country, Fox News reported.
From February 2, US citizens returning from the Chinese province of Hubei will be isolated under 14-day quarantine. Americans returning from other regions of China will be tested for possible symptoms of coronavirus.
Azar also said that US President Donald Trump has temporarily suspended entry into the country for foreigners who may be at risk of coronavirus infection.
The country's Ministry of Homeland Security, in turn, said that from Sunday all flights arriving from China will be sent to 7 US airports, specially equipped to check passengers for the presence of coronavirus.
