YEREVAN. – Armenia's first instance court has gone beyond the scope of its powers. Prosecutor Petros Petrosyan said this when submitting his appeal to the Court of Appeal in connection with the criminal case involving second President Robert Kocharyan.

The appeal relates to the decision of the first instance court to provide Kocharyan's lawyers with all the files of the March 1, 2008 case.

Petrosyan listed a number of provisions in the legislation that, according to him, substantiate the prosecutor's position.
