Armenia proposes to introduce criminal liability for forcing parents to abandon their newborn children through threats, the provision of false information, the use of violence, and so on, Armenian minister of labor and social affairs Zaruhi Batoyan said on Friday.

According to her, these phenomena should be punishable either by fine and arrest or by imprisonment. 

Batoyan also noted that this legislative initiative will help to combat the trafficking of children.
