Armenia’s political circles are confident that President Serzh Sargsyan will submit a proposal to the parliament to declare an amnesty by May 28. In this case jailed opposition activists will be released, writes Armenian Haykakan Zhamanak newspaper.

“Rumors go around that Catholicos of All Armenians and Public Council will appeal to the President with a request to pardon political prisoners. Fourteen days are left till May 28, let’s see which way Serzh Sargsyan will choose,” the newspaper writes.
