YEREVAN. – Armenia’s capital hosts “Caucasus-2010” international conference aimed at summing up results of key events in the South Caucasus for the past year.

The conference, organized by Caucasus Institute and supported by the Think Tank Fund and Heinrich Böll Foundation, is a part of project on Building Capacity for Policy Debate in Armenia financed by EU.

The event brought together representatives from Russia, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Turkey and Armenia.

Speaking at the conference, head of EU delegation Raul de Luzenberger mentioned in his speech, 2010 was essential for the development of South Caucasus including the context of deepening relations with EU. In 2010 the negotiations on Association Agreement on South Caucasus were initiated.

“There is a great progress in talks with Armenia,” marked Raul de Luzenberger, calling the last year successful.

Giga Zedania, director of the Institute for Genealogy and Modernity, director of Caucasus Institute Alexander Iskandaryan and political columnist for The Mirror Rauf Mirkadyrov presented reports on Armenia, Georgia and Azerbaijan.
